Snowflake "Seven-Star." This is an exceptional snowflake, because it has 7 tips. There is some biblical number symbolism in the pattern. E. g. the central ring has 7x6 stitches, which symbolizes the humanity and deity of Christ in a perfect form (circle). Of course the seven tips stand for the deity and perfection of Christ. These bookmarks belong to the "Autumn Sun" series, a series of designs to show how one can use variations of one simple design to get several new ones. The left one shows how the design looks different when done with two colors. The colors of the blue and red one stand for the blood of Christ (red) and for the heavenly home of Christ (blue). The bookmarks consist of 7 (number of perfection) small motifs each. The four central rings of each motif repeat the form of the cross.
Both bookmarks were done with no. 8 Pearl Cotton by Anchor. Design by © Christiane Eichler |
